Privacy Policy

Baselyne ("Baselyne," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our platform and services (the "Service").
By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
This policy applies to all users of Baselyne, including business account owners and their authorized employees. If you are accessing Baselyne on behalf of a business, that business's use of our Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
Account Information. When you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, company name, phone number, billing address, and payment information.
Business Data. As you use the Service, you input business information including customer records, lead data, job details, employee information, and financial data (collectively "Customer Data"). This data belongs to you — see "Your Data" below.
Usage Data. We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, session duration, IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system. This helps us improve the product.
Communications. If you contact us via email, live chat, or our contact form, we retain records of those communications to respond to you and improve our service quality.
Cookies and Tracking. We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences (such as your active organization and theme setting). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process your subscription payments and send billing communications
- Respond to support requests and account inquiries
- Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, account updates)
- Send product update announcements and feature releases (you may opt out)
- Monitor for security threats, fraud, and unauthorized access
- Comply with legal obligations
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the product experience
We do not sell your personal information or Customer Data to third parties. We do not use your Customer Data to train machine learning models.
Your Data (Customer Data)
You own all Customer Data you input into the Service — including your leads, customers, jobs, employees, and business records. We process this data solely to provide the Service to you.
Data Export. You may export your Customer Data at any time from within the Service. Upon cancellation, you may request a full data export within 30 days of account closure.
Data Deletion. After cancellation and the 30-day export window, your Customer Data will be permanently deleted from our systems. You may request immediate deletion by contacting us at hello@baselyne.ca.
Data Portability. We support data export in standard formats (CSV) to ensure you are never locked in.
How We Share Information
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers. We share information with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service:
- Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — database and file storage infrastructure. Data is stored in Canada/US data centers.
- Vercel — application hosting. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
These providers are contractually required to use your information only to provide services to us and may not use it for their own purposes.
Legal Compliance. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Baselyne, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers. If Baselyne is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- Role-based access controls limiting who can access customer data
- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and code
- Secure authentication via Supabase Auth with support for multi-factor authentication
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe a security incident has occurred, contact us immediately at hello@baselyne.ca.
Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Usage logs and analytics data are retained for up to 24 months. Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years in Canada).
Customer Data is retained until you delete it, until you cancel (plus the 30-day grace period), or until we receive a deletion request.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Opt-out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time

If you are a resident of a Canadian province or the European Economic Area, you have rights under PIPEDA, provincial privacy laws, or the GDPR respectively. We are committed to honoring those rights.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete it promptly.
Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the Service.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice in the Service before the changes take effect.
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
